Christmas is fast approaching once again, many are planning to gather to spend time with their families. It's a time when being amongst one another is a guarantee; everyone seems to understand the value of family. It's a time to create new memories with those that you love, nothing can outdo this feeling of love and togetherness! However, we understand being together for many can only be obtained by memory. These memories seems to fade in the hearts of others, although some carry these memories in their heart like tall oak trees. These trees are like towers that continues to shade or be the constant reminder in their soul that someone is missing from this holiday season!
The agony of this depletion seems to never fade..., why do we need holidays anyway?!! The more you try to block it out, the coolness from those tall oak trees brings in an internal separation that's seems uncontrollable. This breeze comes rushing in as soon as the fun is on high and the laughter is ranging from upstairs to downstairs. You tell yourself, "I should be having fun..., I mean I am having fun..., but this room is missing someone dear to me!" Soon after, the tears of Christmas begin to cover your soul, although in the mist of others your eyes are depleted from the wetness that tears brings. At that moment, you realize you're back in this Christmas cycle once again!
Every year, God seems to impress upon me to write a blog that brings focus to this type of pain. I understand what it means to grieve on the inside, when everyone else appears to have an high octane level of joy and happiness! If the walls would reveal the turmoil that goes on within the hearts of many, the room would instantly become silent! I don't want you to dance in your grief, although I believe my mission for this post is to help you stand up out of your grief. There is no answer for death, especially the death that you have encountered. Your pain, your grief and your soul cries are important to God! Before you open that door to cycle through depression during this season, be uplifted! God wants to fill the void within!

There is no person or thing that can fill the magnitude of this void, only God can! Every person born into this earth brings an isolated value to life itself, nothing can replace them. The void of their very being can never be contained or replicated in the earth again, neither can the wind fill the space they dwelled in! God is the creator of all things and every living thing must return to its maker. This is indeed understandable, yet piercing to the living. It is God's desire to relieve you of this internal weight. Although the weight of this pain becomes the only tangible reminder of their very existence. The weight of grief and depression is heavy, it’s a pressure that will never satisfy the void within. Releasing that weight feels like your playing Russian roulette; do I allow this pain to take me out or do I remove the bullet or better yet, holster the gun itself?! God wants your memories to be apart of your life journey, although the weight of your grief should be handed over to God.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. He heals the broken heartened, binding up their wounds. As you are reading this, my prayer for you is that God will stand close to you during this season. That you will forfeit that door that drifts you through that cycle of depression, loneliness and rejection. My prayer is that God will rescue you from every crushing moment that you may encounter in the days ahead! I pray that God will heal your broken heart; causing you to release the grips of the pain that leads you to vacillate between joy and sadness, peace and confusion, to ultimately forfeit the cycles of depression that comes in like yesterdays wind!
May God be your peace during this season, grief is real; but God is your solution!
