Freedom from Silent pain.

Updated: Jan 20, 2020

Holiday seasons can be the toughest times when you have experienced a loss of a love one or even a divorce. Your normal life has been severely disrupted and all of your routines have been diverted. The void is unexplainable! The times that you commune with your love one to decide how you’re going to enjoy the holiday only becomes a memory. Your mind seems to constantly take you back to the last holiday you had with the individual while you reminisce on how it could be.

There’s no time frame to say when you should “get over” something. The words “get over it” seems so harsh and demanding and the more you hear “get over it” the more you want to hold on to it! Christ never demanded us to get over a thing, he simply ask us to release it to him. Christ desires for us to “Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail). Psalm 55:22 AMPC

There’s no quick remedy for inner healing. Any wound takes time to heal and recover. Have you ever notice how the first few days of a physical injury or surgical wound hurts the most. As the days go by healing will start on the inside. Although there’s things that you must do on the outside to facilitate that healing. Such as, apply ice frequently, elevate the area, apply antibiotics, and or clean the wound. Seems like a lot to promote proper healing. Well, it’s the same with inner spiritual healing. God wants an intimate relationship with us, he wants to mend our wounds, eradicate our pain and turn it into joy. Life situation happen, but do we stay in the situation or do we go through it? If we stay in the memory of our pain we constantly circle the mountain of that situation. Meaning, we relive the pain of that situation over and over again.

It is imperative that we confess and release our struggles to God. Please keep in mind that this may not be a one time release, we may have to release it over and over again just like the daily physical wound treatments; and each individual has their own process of healing. Some wounds take longer to heal. We have to apply medical treatment until the wound is entirely healed. Prayer confessions has helped me tremendously during and after my divorce. Divorce happens and so does death; at some point we all have been conflicted by both, whether directly or indirectly. When the memory of a pain would resurface, you will need to apply the antidote; prayer and confessions of the Word of God! I have included a daily prayer confession. Pray this prayer frequently, when you’re feeling depressed, lonely or emotionally consumed…release it to Jesus!

My Moments of Confessions:

God I thank you for giving me a way of escape from this pain. I no longer want to carry this burden or the pain of this memory. Lord I seek for peace in this season. The void of their earthly presence crushes my spirit and silently bruises my soul. The sting of death is vicious, and I accept that every person has an appointed time to leave this earth. Embrace me, heal me and restore me in this season. Mend the broken pieces of my heart and consume me today with your never-ending compassion and love. Every morning fill the void in my heart, until joy and peace is restored as I release this pain and accept your sovereign will. Let the strength of your love be with me during this season. In Jesus name! Amen!
