The Love of God!

There are times in life when we feel unloved or unnoticed by God. I often read comments on social media when there’s a devastation such as a school shooting or a child being abducted or murdered; saying “Where is God?” “Why did he allow this to happen to them?” “If he’s God why wouldn’t he save them from this?”. I believe our mind perceives God to be a “Superhero” type of guy. Just looking for God to come in and save the day and protect us from all types of danger or harm. As I am writing this my inner thoughts are saying, “but He is my hero”! I believe those thoughts arise because our thoughts are not God centered or we don’t have a true image of who God is. We think with an earthly mindset which is far beneath the thoughts of God. “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9 AMPC
The Bible defines God as being Compassionate, Merciful, Slow to Anger/Long Suffering, Having UnfailingLove and Faithful. These characteristic alone should bring clarity on how He interacts with humans. He is not the author of confusion or hate. Therefore we know He is not the cause of death nor does He find satisfaction in the harm of others. God does not command us to follow Him or align to His word. He gives us a choice to become one with Him. He refuses to abandon us and remains true to us. His unfailing love is simply undeserved favor that He has shown us. We are undeserving of His love, yet He gave His only begotten son to reunite us back to Him. That’s love! He withholds judgment because He does not want to see us destroyed. He gives us time to resist our sinful ways and suffers long as we maneuver in and out of sin. When we enter into temptation or face struggles, God enters into our struggles with us to see us through. “They refused to obey, nor were they mindful of Your wonders and miracles which You did among them; but they stiffened their necks and in their rebellion appointed a captain, that they might return to their bondage [in Egypt]. But You are a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great steadfast love; and You did not forsake them.” Nehemiah 9:17 AMPC
Now that we know that God is all of the above let’s consider the mindset of mankind towards others. We as humans can often be; unsympathetic, unkind, resentful, grudge holders, judgmental, we fall in and out of love just as a waterfall flows, we are inconsistent, deceitful and inpatient! As we can see, mankind’s nature is the total opposite of God’s character. The Bible tells us that we should resist our evil ways or our sinful nature and adopt God’s character.
“Finally, all [of you] should be of one and the same mind (united in spirit), sympathizing [with one another], loving [each other] as brethren [of one household], compassionate and courteous (tenderhearted and humble). Never return evil for evil or insult for insult (scolding, tongue-lashing, berating), but on the contrary blessing [praying for their welfare, happiness, and protection, and truly pitying and loving them]. For know that to this you have been called, that you may yourselves inherit a blessing [from God–that you may obtain a blessing as heirs, bringing welfare and happiness and protection].” 1 Peter 3:8-9 AMPC
God is not a tyrant or controlling! Deceitfulness in the heart of mankind has caused great devastation in the earth. Which has and is causing great pain in many lives. What we don’t understand is that God is compassionate to ALL mankind. It is His desire than mankind would turn from their wicked ways. This is why the word of God urges us to forfeit our sinful nature. Many people take the word of a God and twist it to do evil against another, God’s truth is not meant to do evil to one another. Therefore mankind can not justify their evil doings to be aligned with God. All evil doings are aligned with Satans characteristics such as; hate, bigotry, murder, slander, sexual assaults and thievery are all a direct reflection of Satan. These sins are unfortunate and destroys many, however we must be clear on who authors such hate...Satan. Nothing can be done in the earth unless it is done by the hands of mankind. Therefore it is a spiritual battle of good and evil. Now that we know that Good and Evil is played out by the hands of humans. Satans desire is to influence as many as he can to do evil...and it is God’s desire that mankind would do good.
Have you ever did something and said “I knew I shouldn’t have done that” but you did it anyway. Remember God does not force us to do good, we have to be willing to do His will. Satans approach is different; he manipulates, deceives and entices us to do evil. When we give into evil temptations we birth out evil results. “When you are tempted don’t ever say, “God is tempting me,” for God is incapable of being tempted by evil and he is never the source of temptation. Instead it is each person’s own desires and thoughts that drag them into evil and lure them away into darkness. Evil desires give birth to evil actions. And when sin is fully mature it can murder you! So my friends, don’t be fooled by your own desires!”James (Jacob) 1:13-16 TPT
It is the compassion of Christ that urges us to do good and not evil. He urges us to meditate on things that are good and not of evil. If you meditate on lustful behavior, those lust filled desires will soon become an evil action; such as fornication, adultery and/or sexual perversion. Today let us confess that we will be renewed in our mind, stable in our emotions, and matured in our actions.
Father open my eyes so I can partake of the depths of your love. Help me to understand the error of my ways and expose the deceitfulness that’s buried in my heart. I am better than what I have become. God you have purposed for me to have dominion in the earth and be a direct reflection of your love, goodness, mercy and abundant peace. Deliver me from myself! Renew in me a right spirit... Your Spirit! Help me to find my identity in You and not in who I have become. You have purpose me to be impactful in the earth and I shall be a light in the earth. Amen!
