Truth empowers us. Sin weakens us.

It takes a great amount of strength to stand in truth. Many people stand in their flesh desires or what is appeasable or favorable to popular demand. However truth aligns us with our identity and purpose. Standing in truth also avails us to see others for who they are and keeps us from sinking deeper into a relationship that will only cause bondages and emotional instability.

All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth, to such as keep His covenant and His testimonies. Psalm 25:10. The way of the Lord is certainly aligned with the word of God and His truth. Many times we confused truth with our personal desires and wants. God will only align with His word, God does not vacillate based on conditions or situations. We know His word is true and His path is certain. It would benefit us to pray for God's truth to prevail in the earth and within our hearts. David prayed for God's truth and light to lead him in all of his ways. Oh, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me; Let them bring me to Your holy hill And to Your tabernacle. Psalm 43:3.

Sometimes standing in truth means we will have to release or let go of relationships or lifestyle choices that are not pleasing to God in order to aligned with His truth. It takes strength to stand in God's truth. It is easier to lean into a lie or make accommodation to fit our particular scenario. I must say, it takes more strength and courage to stand in God’s truth than to satisfy personal wants or desires. We find our greatest power when we align with God's truth! Our flesh is always seeking for more and desiring things of this world; or things that are conducive or favorable to what is popular with the world. I frequently mention, just because the world condones a lifestyle or a way of living does not make it God approved. The word of God says, be not conformed to the ways of the world; but have our mind renewed in God's truth. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2. This is how we prevail in this world, any entanglement with the lust of the flesh will cause us to abandon God's truth.

Standing in God's truth goes against the grain or the ways of the world. However, once you partake of the benefits of walking in God's truth, the lust of the flesh becomes more of a sabotage than a benefit. We often stand firm on our “self-proclaimed truths”. Although many of our self-proclaimed truths are flesh centered or developed from a root of pain. If your truth does not align with God’s word and His direction your truth is likely a facade, influenced by enemy, that will eventually sabotage your stance with God. Does your proclaimed truth compromise God’s integrity and values? If your truth aligns with sin, ask God to reveal His truth and forfeit all future dead ends. Once we learn of God's ways it will profit us to forsake what we know to be true, based on our sinful nature, and gravitate to God's nature and truth. The Lord said, it is better for a man to enter into His kingdom without an arm, leg or even an eye than to allow our affiliation with sin to lead us down a path of eternal damnation. Strength of standing in God's truth, means denying self centered desires.

Maybe you are in a relationship that you know is not appropriate for you, but you continue to walk down this path. Maybe this relationships affords you prestige or simply solves your problem of feeling alone. Abandoning truth to satisfy fleshly desires will only lead us down a path of unsettled emotions and bondages. When we embrace God's truth, God will give us understanding of our identity. Our identity is secured in Him, we will never function in the fullness of our identity aligning with sin. Standing in the power of God's truth empowers us for success and affords us peace. The word of God will never bend to fit into our plans, the sword of the Lord does not have the capability to bend or vacillate. The sword of God, pierces and divides truth from lies, separates sin from righteousness and heals wounds that were created in the hearts of mankind from the consequences of the enemies lies.

I pray that we will allow God's truth to empower us to stand for righteousness sake. To deny lustful desires, such as fornication, sexual immorality, thievery, lies, vanity, sowing seeds of discord, physically harming one another and so forth. Standing against the ways of the world takes strength, it took strength for Christ to stand in truth in the mist of the world accusing Him unto death. When we stand in God's truth, God will stand with us.

Father, renew our minds and cause us to deny the facades of the world. Help us to deny the artificial fronts that the world offers. This world will pass away and the only thing that will be left standing is Your truth. Send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead us; Let them bring us to Your holy hill And to Your tabernacle. Open our eyes to know your truth, then cause your truth to set us free from the lies that are trapped within our hearts. Let your Sword divide truth from lies, separate us from our sins and align us to your righteousness. Holy Spirit, heal us of our wounds that were formed due to our selfishness and the separation of divine truth. Let your love and kindness steer us back into the safety of your arms. Deliver us from ourselves! In Jesus name!
